Services/Responsibilities of an MRO:
MRO functions for your company will include the responsibilities listed below and be further structured to meet your specific needs.

  • Review information on the specimen custody and control form(CCF) and determine that the information is forensically and scientifically supportable.
  • Interview donor when required.
  • Make determination regarding test result.
  • Report verified result to employer.
  • Maintain records and confidentiality of information.

Drug Testing:

  • Can be performed at any official collection facility including our office at 150 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
  • Tests performed can be DOT or non-DOT (DOT and non-DOT) as needed.
  • Non-DOT testing has the option of an on-site test that is NIOSH certified and can return negative result confirmation before the end of the day. Positive screens are sent to a certified testing laboratory for confirmation, with results returned to our office terminal in 24 hours.
  • Company needs to have a written drug and alcohol policy. Procedures for positive results must be reviewed with the (MRO) prior to program initiation.
  • A five (5)-drug panel is recommended for most companies. The panel can be increased to nine (9) drugs if desired.

Alcohol Testing:

  • Can be performed at any official collection facility including our office at 150 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
  • Alcohol screening performed by breath or saliva for random or for-cause.

Verified Reports:

  • Results of testing will be confirmed to the employer as quickly as possible.
  • Positive results will be confirmed to the employer following the drug/ alcohol policy determined by the company and following notification of these results to the tested.
  • Charges for (MRO) services are negotiable.
  • Charges for specimen collection and laboratory fees are fixed.
  • Company is responsible for designating a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).
